Retirement definitely has its perks, one of which is the freedom to just spend an occasional afternoon in a park with a good book...and a camera, of course.
A couple of weeks ago, Doug and I and our friend, Pat, did just that. It was June 22, a very hot and humid Saturday. It was bordering on miserable; but, just when I'd think I couldn't stand it another minute, a little breeze would blow our way and bring some relief.
Of course, food is always included in our days away. (Photo by Pat)
This lovely lady is our friend, Pat.
This kayaker appeared to be searching for the perfect fishing spot.
Lots of others were fishing from the banks of the river.
A small air show was underway nearby.
A view of the river.
That night was the night before the official Super Moon. The next night was cloudy and rainy, so this was the only chance I had for a shot of the Super Moon.
nice to see you! :) looks like a lot of relaxation but with a ton of stuff to watch, too. :)

What a lovely spot. You two always find those perfect getaways. I love the photo of you and Doug. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see that you enjoy the freedom of your retirement, Linda. :) The photo of you and Doug is lovely, thanks for sharing. Both of you look very relaxed in it.
ReplyDeleteThe moon looks like a ball with that spot on its bottom part where lines come from. I can almost see a beach ball for kids, one could take coloured pencils and colour the sections. Or it could be an orange... :) Great details.
