The rain has finally returned to Indiana and is coming now with some regularity. The downside of that is that it usually comes in on a storm, rather than just a nice gentle cloud passing overhead and dropping some moisture.
The latest storm rolled through on Saturday night. The sky grew dark; the winds picked up; and the rain fell. But afterward...oh afterward...such wonder in the sky. My photos don't do it justice.
First, there was a rainbow.
Then the sky turned orange.
Looking west, our trees prevented a view of the horizon, where the sun was setting.
Looking southeast, the setting sun reflecting in the clouds
wow! that orange is amazing! and 'end-of-days-ish!' :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen skies as orange as this. We have those afternoon storms as well though they haven't caused any damage yet. Hurricane season is about to ramp up for us, though.
ReplyDeleteStunning shots.
ReplyDeletevery nice Linda, you did well. I liked your last comment, it gave me a nice smile to end my day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours, Linda, and I really like the title of your post. Storms make me feel a bit frightened (especially when I'm out) but "storm glory" sounds great. :)
ReplyDeleteIf I colored the sky in one of my landscapes that shade of orange, people would say it wasn't possible.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteWow.. you have captured some gorgeous skies, Linda. I'm glad you've got your rain.
