I find the antics of squirrels very entertaining sometimes. Here are a couple of pictures that I snapped of a squirrel in a tree outside my computer room window recently. They just make me smile. I hope they have the same effect on you.
I mentioned in my last post that we had recently purchased a villa in a nearby retirement community. I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of it.
We're getting some work done inside the villa, primarily painting and some new carpet; so I'll hold off posting pictures of the inside until that work is done.
Meanwhile, there's a lot of work to be done in downsizing and getting moved, then getting the current house ready to be put on the market. So it's a bit hectic around here right now.
I do hope you will love your new home and I'm pretty sure you will. Those squirrels can be a good source of entertainment.
ReplyDeleteWe're already loving the new place, Ruth. We'll just be glad when the moving process is behind us and we're settled in.
DeleteBeautiful, love brick homes. I just got a small 2 bdrm in a tiny community for 42 K so love having my house back.No store for 20 miles so will have to get used to that.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. It's only brick on the front; the rest is siding. But, like you, I love a brick house. I think it stems from my childhood and stories of the Big Bad Wolf. ;) Our house is also a two-bedroom. Yours sounds nice, too.
DeleteThat first photo of the squirrel looks funny, Linda, it must be entertaining to watch them...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a photo of your new house. It IS smaller than your previous house so obviously the downsizing is necessary. Wishing you to go through all the arrangements successfully and peacefully!
It IS entertaining to watch squirrels, Petra. That one had a nut in its mouth and proceeded to try to find the perfect place to bury it when he got down from the tree. Yes, the new house is smaller, but it's newer, too; so there should be less maintenance with it. And the association takes care of the lawn and landscaping and snow removal. Doug's looking forward to that.
DeleteCongrats on your new home. Looks PERFECT.... I think we'll be doing that sometime --although our home is fine for us --since it is all on one level, and is fairly small. BUT---our yard is something else. I have a feeling we will need to hire someone to come in and completely change our yard --so that it won't be SO much work for us... I love our flowers --but neither of us can keep up with everything that needs to be done in the yard anymore (especially ME)......Since I got A-Fib ---I just don't have much energy or stamina anymore to get outside and work.. Oh Well..... Let me just say that I'm envious of your new home...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Thank you, Betsy. Doug and I have wanted to get into this particular community for several years. The villas always sell so fast that we've never even known when one was for sale. So we're feeling blessed to have been able to get this one. We like its location and its size. The neighbors we've met on either side seem very nice. We'll be glad when we're settled in.
DeleteOh wow! Such a big step in life. Congrats that y’all are able too. I think it will be fun afterwards.....squirrels make me smile
ReplyDeleteIt IS a big step for us, Kim. Just the thought of dealing with all the "stuff" that we've accumulated over almost 30 years in one place is daunting. I need a few doses of squirrel smiles to keep me going. :)
DeleteYour new Villa is so pretty...looking forward to seeing pictures of the inside when you are ready to share. :) Glad you are home from your travels now.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dianna. We're loving it more every time we go over there and anxious to be settled in. The process is challenging, though. My vacation travelogue is going to have to wait awhile. :)
DeleteSquirrels are so fun to observe. Good luck with the work in the villa!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good wishes regarding our move. We've been working at it slowly, taking as much over as we're able to ourselves. Some folks from our church are bringing a big truck this coming Friday to help us move the bigger items.
DeleteI searched for your blog after reading your comment you left at Ruth's blog.
ReplyDeleteI do hope by now you are settled in your home! Love squirrels.

Thanks for your visit, Anni. The move has been more challenging than we had expected. We're in the villa now, but still emptying the other house. Hopefully, it will go on the market Friday.
DeleteYour squirrel pics made me smile! Your new home makes me very happy for you and Doug...it's beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. Our new home isn't so beautiful on the inside right now. Boxes everywhere and can't find a thing. Don't plan a visit just yet. ;)
