It's been, for the most part, a hot and humid summer in our area; and it seems as if it's flying by. Kids will be returning to school next week! It's been rather an uneventful season for us, which can be a good thing at our ages. :)
Here are a few photos from local events that just seem to scream "summer fun." The first was an outdoor concert with Christian music artist, Guy Penrod, who was a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for many years. There was no charge to attend the concert, but a love offering was collected for the benefit of area food banks.
The outdoor venue gave an intimate feel to the concert. Guy even came down off the stage and walked through the audience at one point.

This second set of images is from Harlan Days, an annual summer festival in the small town where Doug and I live.
I hope summer has been kind to you.
That concert looks like fun.Guy Penrod puts on a good concert. We have a festival just down the road this weekend. The Ball Brothers will be there on Sundays I'm looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteThe concert WAS fun, Ruth. Guy does do a good concert. Your festival this weekend sounds like fun, too.
DeleteSo nice to pop over here and see a post from you. :-) I am glad you and Doug had opportunity to enjoy both of these outdoor summer fun times! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHi, Dianna. Yes, these were two fun events, for sure. There was another fun outing this past week. I'm not sure when I'll get around to putting up a post on that. :)
DeleteYour photos ARE screaming "summer fun", Linda! :) Good that you enjoyed some outdoor entertainment.
ReplyDeleteDid everybody have to bring their collapsible chairs to the concert?
Hi, Petra. Not everyone brought chairs. Some brought blankets to sit on on the ground. No chairs were furnished by the venue, although there were a few bleacher seats along the sides.
