Continuing with photos of the birds we saw in Florida last month, today's post features a variety of shore birds. There are several for which I don't know the identities. I know many of you are much better at identifying birds than I am, so feel free to share your expertise.
I absolutely love these bird photos, Linda, and am looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteThey shore are pretty birds. I like those skimmers.. cool birds.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird photos, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI'm always in awe, of photos of birds in flight. I just can't do that. ahhh
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful and interesting birds. I love the way God created different species for different areas of the country...the world for that matter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, especially of the skimmers! I read that their lower beak is longer than the upper one, and it's very clear to see when clicking on your photo even with the beak closed. That's really a great shot. Love the reflections in the water, also. I love to watch birds, but I'm just a novice so I don't know the names of the others. Have a great day.
ReplyDeletei love beach birdies. they are so super cute. i guess because i don't get to see them that often. only on special occasions. ( :
ReplyDeleteshorebirds are ones i don't get to see too many of - and i'm not well-versed in i.d.ing them. :) love them, though. terns always make me smile and skimmers are just so odd. :)
ReplyDeleteYou got some great shots of these shore birds. I especially like the picture of the Black Skimmers in flight. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteFun to watch all the different birds.
ReplyDeleteLove your shorebird shots. The Skimmer are indeed quite different looking!
ReplyDeleteThese are great shots. The birds look wonderful but I also like the patterns in the water.
ReplyDeleteLove those skimmers! And the terns have so much personality. So glad you got to see all these. I think some of the other birds that aren't identified are some sort of sandpiper. The last one has the markings of a killdeer, but I can't see if it has orange eyes or not. Great set, Linda!! I'd love to have seen the skimmers in person.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos. Linda !
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Linda. They are real characters! I especially like the Royal Terns in the second photo from above. :)
ReplyDeleteI was lucky to identify an eagle last summer, I'm afraid I am not a birder.
