Continuing with our visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park during the first week of November, this post will touch on two more of our favorite places in the area.
The first three photos were taken along Little River Trail, which has become one of our favorite trails in the park, not only because of its beauty but, increasingly, because it's one of the easiest hikes in the park.
The trees were pretty bare along the river, but look at that burst of color on the mountainside!
The next four images are from the overlooks at Douglas Dam, which is not inside the National Park but which we've come to love for its beauty and peacefulness.
More to come from this beautiful area in future posts.
Linda, what a gorgeous series, and your last 4 photos need a frame! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteBoth areas look very beautiful Linda and your photographs are lovely. The colours are amazing. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and my favourite here is the last but one photo, great capture!
ReplyDeleteYou got some great pictures on your visit. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteoh, that panorama!
ReplyDeleteWOW! The pictures from Douglas Dam are my favourites.I love all that color.
ReplyDeleteThis is the place for me. Amazing colors of autumn paired with breathtaking views of nature. Truly wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. You're very kind.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.
Petra - That's our favorite, too. Doug had been wanting a wall hanging with a meaningful scripture passage on it. I knew he liked that photo, so I put the scripture on it and printed it out. Now we just need to find a suitable frame for it. Now he's thinking of other scripture passages he'd like to have. I think I've created a monster. :)
Thanks, George. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
Thanks, Tex. I was pleased with how that turned out, too.
Thank you, Ruth. The Douglas Dam shots did sort of make the Little River trail shots pale by comparison, didn't they? :)
Mersad - You and your camera make everyplace you go look beautiful. I'd love to see what images you would capture in our beloved Smoky Mountains.
