This close-up shows that he was apparently dining on a smaller insect with transparent wings.
A group of horses was being driven back to the barn on an Amish farm.
A milkweed flower in the morning sunlight.
This wraps up the photos from my walk of the 12th. Guess I'd better get out there again. But next time, I'll use some insect repellent.
i've read dragonflies eat a lot of mosquitoes - let's hope that was one. :) love the horses running! the best killdeer shots i've ever gotten was from inside my car. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with "killdeers" but that bird appears to have very large eyes considering its overall size. Great pics.
