An Afternoon at Ouabache

We spent an afternoon at Ouabache State Park last week. These are some of the things that caught my eye.

A Cluster of Fungi

Canada Geese

A Pair of Sparrows

Purple Asters

Eastern Comma Butterfly

See the little comma on the underside of the wing?

A Footbridge on A Trail We Explored

Another Footbridge on the Same Trail

A Touch of Fall Color

  1. Pretty pics. So nice to have such a lovely spot to keep revisiting. I love that footbridge.

  2. such a nice area. beautiful geese photo and i like the 'shroom bouquet!

  3. Really beautiful, Linda!!! I hope you weren't too close to the geese because the two in the front...their necks are slightly curved, which is never a good thing. I like to see them relaxed. You have made my day with your lovely photos. I had a day filled with arthritis pain and this is just what I needed. Thank you!

  4. Love the touch of fall color. The sights will change pretty quickly soon. The butterfly and geese look at peace there. If you like you can share your post on my photo meme. Link is below.

  5. Pretty funny seeing a shot of the fungus. I had found some 2 days ago, we think on the same mode sometimes.

  6. sch alovely place to have a walk. great shots. Have a good week ahead.

  7. Nice captures, Linda. Funnily enough, I love most the fence in the last photo, there is something about it... which has caught my attention. :)

  8. Hi Linda, Sorry I have been such a bad blogger these days... Life just gets in the way!!!!! ha....

I certainly enjoyed and continue to enjoy your posts. This looks like a fantastic state park where you can take a good hike/walk.... Beautiful photos.

We have had a week (or more) of rain and dreariness --but today, the sun came out.... Awesome!!!!

  9. Thanks, Hilary. It's a great place for "mini-vacations."

Tex - You have a way with words. :)

Linda - Those two geese were just grazing, not paying any attention to us. We do see the aggressive behavior sometimes, but it's always directed at other geese. I hope you've gotten some relief from your arthritis pain. I know it can be miserable.

Mersad - Ah, yes. I, too, love the fall color. We're seeing more and more each day now.

Steve - I'm not sure I would have thought of photographing fungus if I hadn't seen it first on your blog. :)

Thanks, Margaret. It really was a nice walking trail.

    Thank you, Ruth.

Thanks, Petra. That fence caught my eye, too...just as much as that little touch of fall color.

Betsy - I totally understand about life getting in the way. No need for apologies. Your visits and kind words are always appreciated.
