This is another set of photos from what has become our favorite state park. These were all taken during a visit to the park on August 23, 2013.
The first two are flowering weeds that grow along the water's edge.
And what would a post from Ouabache State Park be without a few dragonfly images?
Eastern Amberwing Dragonfly
This isn't a great shot of the Eastern Amberwing Dragonfly, but I liked the reflection.
Widow Skimmer Dragonfly
Widow Skimmer Dragonfly
A little fall color sets off this picturesque dead tree.
The Dragonfly photos are beautiful!

Hi Linda Wonderful close up shots but my favorite is of the Widow Skimmer Dragonfly.
ReplyDeleteGreat snaps, very well captured

dragonflies are just amazing creatures. nice shots. ( :
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful photos! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how even weeds, in the hands of a skilled photographer such as yourself, can make a great picture. I hope you're having a great week.
ReplyDeleteloved these! i, too, like that reflection. my fave, though, is the 2nd. wow!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots, the first is smart weed. The second almost appears as a thistle perhaps. Always like the dragonflies
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you are doing awesome with that camera! The dragonfly shots are beautiful and the one of the amberwing posed on the rock is great because you can see more of the surrounding area. Though I love close ups (you know how I do!), sometimes it helps to see more of the habitat. The widow skimmer is so crisp and clear and the weeds along the water's edge are beautiful. You GO girl!
ReplyDeleteYour dragonfly photos are marvelous, but I like the 'more' as well. Your first two macros of the weeds are full of details, and the last photo is beautiful. You're quickly making this a favorite park of ours as well.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures. I am not real good at getting Dragonfly shots,so I really am enjoying yours.
ReplyDeleteRemarkable photos! And my favorite is that reflection photo of the Dragonfly. Nice work!!
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the reflection also. So lovely. I need to get up to my new place so I don't miss all of the fall colours.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful photos from Ouabache State Park... Love your macros... They can show the tiny bugs up close and personal.. Great set, Linda.

Betsy
