The photograph below was shot last Saturday afternoon, as Doug and I were on our way to meet some friends for supper in another town. The sunbeams piercing the clouds were just so pretty.
And here are few pictures of some little critters enjoying peanuts on our back patio. There was a cardinal out there yesterday, but he was too fast for me.
Oh! What great pictures. How did you get so close to the critters without them scurrying away? And amazing sky picture, i love looking at those. They never get old.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, That first picture is awesome. I love pictures like that with the sunbeams. WOW!!!! You captured a winner.. Frame that one!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Thank you, Elizabeth. A zoom lens and some cropping help to get critter closeups. But I was also behind the glass patio door. The squirrels don't seem to mind if they see me there. The jays are a bit more nervous.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Betsy. I try to keep my camera on hand for just such occasions.
I am crazy about those squirrel pictures!
ReplyDeleteThose sunbeams are gorgeous.. and you know how I love birds and squirrels. These pics are wonderful. I know how skittish the jays can be but they can rarely resist a peanut offering.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betty. I learned the peanut trick from Hilary. Jays and squirrels love them.
ReplyDeleteHilary - The jays have become accustomed to my opening the door and throwing a handful of peanuts out. It's not long before they're flying in from all directions. There hasn't been much squirrel activity, but today there was one who was snatching up peanuts and burying them in the yard, then returning for more before the jays could get them all. It was fun to watch.
Wow, I just went on vacation looking at your last few blogs. The pictures in Wyoming and the national parks are outstanding! You know how my heart longs to see beautiful flowers and the yellow cactus flower and the glorious red flowers were breath-taking. Pictures say a thousand words!
ReplyDeleteWhat super photo's, wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteIs this catch and release photography, like catch and release fishing? :) Cute shots and a clever
ReplyDeletecont'd ... way to get wildlife close enough for great photos like these.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures Linda. I want you to know you have been in my thoughts and that I miss you. Thank you for reaching out to me and not forgetting about me. XX
ReplyDeleteKD - Thanks for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the flower photos. A little bit of color is certainly welcome at this time of year, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteDeborah - Thanks so much.
Sandra - Yes, this is the lazy person's way of photographing wildlife. No exercise required. :)
Lori - It's so nice to "see" you here. I pray that each day will bring some joy into your life.
