Great Egret

The first Great Egret that we saw in Florida last month seemed to be shopping for some property of his own.


The rest of these images are all of one egret. He had taken up a station near a fisherman on the beach where Doug and I had staked out a space to spend an afternoon of reading and, of course, taking photographs.



Patience paid off as the fisherman tossed our egret what appears to be a piece of a bait fish.

    Lovely photos, Linda. The water is such a great background to off those beautiful white feathers. And I love how this guy hunkers his head into his shoulders for a rest.
    p.s. I did not know the Great Egret could read; I bet it was homeschooled. jk, lol

    The wading birds in Florida are not only plentiful but gorgeous. I really enjoyed you pictures of the Great White....:)

    I enjoyed your picture of the egret at the 'For Sale' sign, but all your pictures are wonderful. I'm glad the egret's patience paid off with a little snack.

    AWESOME! Love the third shot of him posting on the rock. And the fish bait--incredible! I just love egrets and herons (as you well know). :) You are doing so well with your bird photography.

    I hadn't known egrets are that educated... :)

    Wonderful captures, Linda. I love that fist shot. It looks to me like he's doing the selling and has just hammered his sign in place... spelling mistake and all.
