The Back Yard...Again

We awoke to more snow this morning. It's starting to taper off now, but I'd say we received a couple of inches of new snow. Here are a few pictures from the back yard. (Sorry, but it's about the only place I get to for photo ops in the winter.)

This swing is much more inviting in the warmer months, both because of the temperature difference and because the shrubs behind it create more privacy when they have leaves on them.

I had to shoot his little guy's picture through the window this morning, so the image isn't as sharp as it could be. At least, the window is what I choose to blame.

I do enjoy the beauty of winter, but I'm looking forward to the beauty of spring.

  3. Thanks, Steve. That black squirrel and its gray mate provide a lot of entertainment for us. I have a poor-quality video of the two of them playing during the summer. I considered posting it but decided that the quality just wasn't good enough. I have a better camera now. Maybe they'll give me another opportunity one of these days.

Kristina - I haven't really minded this winter, but I'm getting bored with my own photographs. :) You're right about the seasons. I would really miss them if I lived somewhere that didn't have four distinct seasons. Although, it's sometimes tempting. :)

  7. Thanks, Lori. Enjoy winter while you can. It won't be long and we'll be complaining about the summer's heat and insects. :)

  9. I love that swing. It must be lovely to sit there and read a book in summer. Sigh, summer..

  10. Hilary - There are some days when we really do enjoy the swing. But we find that, often, our enjoyment is dampened by heat, insects, or neighbors running noisy lawnmowers. When it's good, though, it's very, very good. :)

  12. KD - What a pleasant surprise to find your comment this morning. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind words. And I agree with you about the bush with the red berries. I had only recently noticed that bush and have no idea what it is.
