A Quiet Anniversary

Today (August 15) is Doug's and my 28th wedding anniversary. If you're interested in seeing a few wedding photos, I posted some here on our 24th anniversary. And, if you're interested in hearing about how we met, that story can be found here.

We didn't do anything exciting to mark the occasion of this anniversary, but we enjoyed several meals out with friends in the course of the week. We also spent one afternoon at Ouabache State Park. I didn't get any photos that day, but here are a few from the week before:
Red-Spotted Purple Butterfly, wings open

Red-Spotted Purple Butterfly, wings closed

Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly, with a face any mosquito (and some humans) would fear

Wildflowers growing along the shore of the small lake at the park

  1. Linda, I went to your other posts about how you and Doug met and to see your wedding photos. What a lovely story! The photos are beautiful! One year is a great time to have the opportunity to have gotten to know one another before Doug asked you to marry him. I laughed about Jimmy. It was the dog! :)

Happy Anniversary to you both, and your photos are lovely! :)

  9. Linda - Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to go back and look at the older posts. Doug had had some bad experiences in previous relationships and was determined to wait long enough to see any warning signals from the Lord before asking me to marry him. But we didn't waste too much time after the proposal before we were married.

Margaret - Thanks for the anniversary congratulations and for the kind comments about the butterfly and wedding photos.

    Thank you, Mersad.

Steve - Thanks. We were blessed indeed, and we're grateful every day.

George - Good wishes are never late. Thanks, and I agree with you about the quiet celebrations.

Thank you, Ruth. We treasure the days we have together.

    Thanks, Tex!

Thanks, Gail. It WAS a fun week of celebration. Glad you enjoyed the flowers and the butterfly.

    Thanks so much, Kay.
