Possibly the best use of beer bottles ever...

A friend sent this video to me awhile back, and I thought you all might enjoy seeing it, if you haven't already. It features the St. Luke's Bottle Band, of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, offering their rendition of "Peacherine Rag." Enjoy!

Thanks to Hilary at The Smitten Image for including this post as a Post of the Week.

  3. Fantabulous! I enjoyed their hats and attire as much as their musical talent. Such fun...don't think I will look at a beer bottle the same after this. :)

  4. I had to laugh that they were fellow Lutherans. You know many Lutherans are German and you know Germans love their beer (with some Baptists non-beer-drinkers like me mixed in), so leave it to a bunch of Lutherans to come up with a way to use those empty beer bottles! The saying goes, "Lutherans call beer German kool-aid

I really did enjoy this (and will show it to the beer drinker in the house when he gets up). I have to think beer bottles have never had a prouder moment! :) Thanks for sharing it.

  5. TNE- I'm always glad when I can give you a chuckle. Glad you enjoyed it, Kristina.

Hilary - Did it give Alex any musical ideas? :) I'm glad you and he both enjoyed it.

Lori - I agree...the costumes really add to the performance.

Sandra - Ha! I love the "German Kool-Aid" comment. And I'm so glad this group came up with such a creative way to use those empty bottles. Hope your Hubby enjoyed it, too.

  11. That's pretty good. People's creativity seem to have no limits. Good post. I wonder if it was a requirement to drink their bottles empty before the performance.
    Thanks for the grins. GQ

  13. Grayquill - Drinking the contents of the bottles may have contributed to the costumes worn for the performance. :) Glad you enjoyed it.
