Maybe I'll have to try that sometime. :)Linda at To Behold The Beautyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07419060763634934217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-77181901854118611522012-12-02T14:01:48.786-05:002012-12-02T14:01:48.786-05:00It's wonderful that you still have the iron, e...It's wonderful that you still have the iron, even in its original box, Linda. I throw all these boxes away as soon as I can.

I iron quite a lot and have no problem with that. Well, I wouldn't like just to stand by an ironing board and iron but I usually watch a movie together with my husband when I'm ironing and that's great, we enjoy that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-46505130446015349072012-12-01T15:50:45.225-05:002012-12-01T15:50:45.225-05:00George - I wouldn't be surprised if your mothe...George - I wouldn't be surprised if your mother did have this iron. Doug probably irons more than I do. He doesn't like wrinkles in his clothes. There's a lot to be said for marrying a guy in his forties who has learned how to cook, clean, and iron for himself. I'll bet he wonders sometimes where he went wrong. :)

Gail - Maybe I'm a little obsessive-compulsive. :) I, too, try to grab the clothes right out of the dryer and hang them up. It ALMOST always works for us.Linda at To Behold The Beautyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07419060763634934217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-26222930653583234942012-11-29T21:26:13.991-05:002012-11-29T21:26:13.991-05:00That's amazing that you still have the iron as...That's amazing that you still have the iron as well as the box--and in such good condition! I'm afraid ironing is not my thing. If hubby wants starched shirts he takes them to the cleaners. When doing laundry I hang up clothing as soon as it emerges from the dryer and the wrinkles fall out quite nicely. It works for us! I really love that you have preserved this "vintage" household appliance through the years. I am like you. I don't think I have ironed anything in many years. The ironing board is still hanging on the door in the utility room---and to be honest, I'm not even sure where my iron is now!!!!! ha

Hugs,
BetsyBetsy Banks Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223591156634767330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-26607743961274028072012-11-29T19:26:01.247-05:002012-11-29T19:26:01.247-05:00Stephen - Good observation. I guess Mom must have trained me that way. And I'm too "vintage" to change now. :)

Theresa - I don't even know what a new iron would look like. This one serves me well, so I see no need to update.
