I read that an effort had been made to place Whooping Crane eggs in the nests of Sandhill Cranes and allowing them to be raised by the Sandhills, learning migration from their foster parents. It wasn't successful, though, because the Whooping Crane young sought to pair up with Sandhill mates. The experiment was abandoned.Linda at To Behold The Beautyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07419060763634934217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-33532777980064576962015-10-29T16:50:46.225-04:002015-10-29T16:50:46.225-04:00Lovely captures, Linda, and I really enjoyed the v...Lovely captures, Linda, and I really enjoyed the video, who would have thought... :)Petra Pavlátkováhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10703286779861972964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-29124694315150318982015-10-24T22:07:21.051-04:002015-10-24T22:07:21.051-04:00Thanks, Steve. It's something we'd like to do someday.

Thank you, Margaret.

Yes, they are, Tex. It was really a treat to see them.

Thanks, Ruth. I doubt that you'll see a Whooping Crane in the wild, as rare as they are. But I hope you do get to see one. It's special, whether in the wild or in captivity.

They ARE beautiful, Linda. I hope you get to see some, even if it's at a bird sanctuary or someplace like that. It's a thrill to see them.Linda at To Behold The Beautyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07419060763634934217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031302234429148594.post-57168657250378665532015-10-22T20:48:56.590-04:002015-10-22T20:48:56.590-04:00They are so beautiful, Linda!
